When you think about going green you usually think about recycling and helping the Earth. Plastics, paper, and glass are not the only things you can recycle. Did you know that you can recycle your old clothes as well. By donating or even selling them to consignment stores. You can make money and save the environment and keep the landfills cleaner.
By recycling clothes reduces the amount of pollution. Crops like cotton wastes 60% of the water it uses and pollutes nearby waterways because of the runoff from pesticides.

Going to a consignment store can save you money. During a recession, thrift or consignment
stores tend to thrive. You can shop here and find nice brand names for a below-average cost. The cost of goods has increased a significant amount, so everyone is trying to find the best bargains.
When the inflation rate is 9% higher the fashion world had to increase its prices.
According to CNBC in 2022, “Apparel prices rose 5.2% in June on a year-
over-year basis, according to a closely watched inflation report.”
According to quartz.com, a survey conducted by the marketing firm
NCSolutions in June found that 45% of Americans feel like they can’t afford
their previous lifestyle and 66% are more mindful of how they are spending their money.
Profits for customers selling items at consignment stores and websites
vary widely, between 5% of the item’s selling price all the way to 80%.
